Es Selamun Aleykum ve Rahmetullahi ve Berakatuh
Bismillah.

Many hot developments have taken place this week.
If we examine our news headlines for this week in order, we can summarize them as follows:

  • Food Aid Being Cut Off in Gaza
  • East Turkestan Being Forgotten
  • US-Iran Conflict Escalates
  • Houthi Attacks Continue
  • Attack on Market Area in Sudan
  • Muslims Left Homeless in India
  • Europe In Turmoil Due to Protests
It has been quite a busy week.
So let's examine what happened this week step by step.

Food Aid Being Cut Off in Gaza

A painful development occurred in Gaza, where the oppression never ends. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) announced that it will reduce food aid in Gaza due to a lack of funding. With this decision, the number of Palestinians receiving regular food aid will be reduced from 1.6 million to 1.1 million. Food distributions will be cut in half, cash support provided to 75,000 families will be terminated, and the daily number of hot meals will drop from 250,000 to 150,000. The WFP reported an urgent need for $450 million to maintain its operations in Gaza and the West Bank. This situation serves as an indicator that people are starting to forget Gaza and reduce assistance. You can use the Boycott Materials to keep Gaza and the boycott on the agenda.

East Turkestan Being Forgotten

East Turkestan is being forgotten under years of silent oppression. Due to the strict censorship imposed on the region by the tyrannical Chinese administration, it is very difficult to obtain updated developments and information. Furthermore, China's oppression of Muslim Uyghurs is not limited to East Turkestan and China, but also manifests in various countries and even online. The scarcity of news from the region should not deceive us. Things in East Turkestan are worsening day by day. Please let us not forget our brothers and sisters in East Turkestan.

US-Iran Conflict Escalates

The ongoing US-Iran conflict has flared up again. Amid mutual threats, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned the US of a broader response following maritime incidents around the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC reported that four vessels were hit and caught fire, while three vessels struck sea mines. Iran stated that if the US encourages ship transits through these dangerous waters, American military bases in the region could also be targeted. The tension in the Strait of Hormuz continues to place an increasing strain on the global economy.

Houthi Attacks Continue

The Saudi-led military coalition announced that the Houthis in Yemen attempted attack operations targeting airports, ports, and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia. During the same period, a missile attack was reported on the presidential palace complex in Aden, Yemen. Combined with the US-Iran crisis in the region and Israel's genocide in Gaza, the region has turned into a ring of fire. However, because this crisis also encompasses straits critical to the global economy, the whole world is negatively affected.

Attack on Market Area in Sudan

In the town of Al-Dibab in Sudan's West Kordofan state, a drone attack on a market area killed approximately 80 people. According to eyewitness accounts, the attack targeted a crowded area where people gathered for transportation and local market activities. The war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has been ongoing since 2023, continues to threaten civilian lives. Please let us not forget our brothers and sisters in Sudan.

Muslims Left Homeless in India

Oppression and persecution against Muslims in India remain unabated. Demolitions carried out in the Assam state of India left hundreds of Muslim families homeless. Demolitions carried out over two days in the Nagaon, Golaghat, and Hojai districts worsened local shelter conditions. Evictions carried out under the pretext of alleged land encroachment and illegal settlements once again highlight the threats to Muslims' property and housing rights.

Europe In Turmoil Due to Protests

In various European countries, particularly France and Italy, reactions against educational issues, high cost of living, and government policies have turned into widespread protests. During this process, political claims emerged that demonstrations were fueled by foreign actors via social media. Although the reasons for the protests vary from country to country, economic difficulties, lack of trust in governments, and social issues stand out. Protests and actions continue in France and Italy, as well as Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and Albania. Moreover, these protests have begun turning into looting and attacks, indicating that situation could worsen in the coming period.

When we look at the summary of the agenda, we see that it generally consists of attacks on Muslims and related events. Under such conditions, while the Ummah is suffering oppression across the globe, it is impossible for us as Muslims to remain silent. We must do whatever we can for the Ummah and for Islam. In addition to our individual efforts, we must act collectively. We must unite again as an Ummah and defend our brothers, sisters, and religion. Otherwise, as happened in Azerbaijan, anti-Islamic figures supporting genocidaires will reach out to target our sisters' hijabs. May Allah guide us all, reform us, and increase our knowledge, faith, and courage. Amen.

Effort is from us, the decree belongs to ALLAH.

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Surah Az-Zumar - Verse 53)

Selamun aleykum.
