Es Selamun Aleykum ve Rahmetullahi ve Berakatuh
Bismillah.

Important developments continue to take place across the world in October.
If we examine our news headlines for this week in order,

  • 1 Year of Gaza's So-Called Ceasefire
  • The Hijab in East Turkestan
  • Hijab Ban in Azerbaijan
  • US Updates War Casualties Balance Sheet
  • Attack on Gold Mine in Sudan
we can summarize it as above. This week, hijab issues particularly stand out.
So let us examine in order what happened this week.

1 Year of Gaza's So-Called Ceasefire

More than a year has passed since the so-called ceasefire that came into force on October 10, 2025. Despite the so-called ceasefire decision taken at the table in the presence of guarantor countries, the situation on the ground has not changed at all. On the contrary, while dropping Gaza from the world agenda, the so-called ceasefire allowed the Terror State of Israel to maintain its military occupation and blockade over Gaza out of sight. According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 1,471 Palestinians have lost their lives and 5,189 people have been injured in the attacks of the Terror State of Israel since the beginning of the ceasefire. Among those killed are at least 327 children, and among the injured are 547 children. Furthermore, according to statements by more than 100 humanitarian aid and human rights organizations, not a single hospital operating at full capacity remains in Gaza, and an estimated 10,000 people are buried under the rubble. Although the so-called ceasefire aimed for approximately 600 aid trucks to enter the region daily, according to the United Nations evaluation, the daily average of UN-coordinated aid remained below 100 trucks in the first 172 days. While there are approximately 61 million tons of rubble in Gaza, it is observed that the occupation area of the Terror State of Israel has expanded from 53 percent to at least 63 percent of the region. And despite all these events, not a single concrete step has come from the guarantor countries. This situation clearly demonstrates to us why we should embrace individual boycotts more firmly rather than trusting puppet regimes. You can also use Boycott Materials to spread the boycott.

The Hijab in East Turkestan

Oppression against Muslims and hostility towards Islam continue all around the world. In East Turkestan under the occupation of cruel China, restrictions on Muslim Uyghur women wearing headscarves and traditional or Islamic clothing continue. The violation index published by the East Turkestan Human Rights Watch Association in February 2026 addresses forced labor, digital surveillance, and arbitrary detentions alongside restrictions on freedom of religion and belief. A 2024 report by the US-based Uyghur Human Rights Project states that women face persecution due to activities such as wearing a headscarf, acquiring religious knowledge, and attending religious gatherings, with some individuals being sentenced to long prison terms. Moreover, it is a known fact that with the "Beauty Project (!)" launched by the cruel Chinese administration in 2011, traditional or Islamic attire such as veil, jilbab, and long skirts were intervened in, and people were forced into different clothing styles despite being contrary to their belief, morality, and traditional elements. Furthermore, increasing censorship and assimilation efforts in the region make it increasingly difficult to learn about the latest developments, while oppression increases day by day in the region. Please let us not forget our oppressed and honorable Uyghur brothers and sisters.

Hijab Ban in Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, which took the side of the Terror State of Israel instead of Muslim Palestinians throughout the Gaza war, a hijab ban in schools—allegedly contrary to the principle of secularism (meaning the principle that religion/Creator cannot interfere with the state)—has now triggered widespread protests. The amendment approved last month modified the regulation regarding student uniforms in public schools, and under the implementation, some schools began refusing entry to classes for students and teachers wearing headscarves. Voices of reaction rose from many parts of the world against this situation. Demonstrations held in front of the Azerbaijani consulate in Istanbul demanded the reversal of the decision. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a statement regarding the issue, stating that his country's lifestyle should not be interfered with. The action taken by the administration in Azerbaijan is an ignoble move, to say the least. Depriving honorable Muslim women who cover themselves by obeying their Lord's command from education, excluding them, and forcing them to disobey their Lord is one of the lowest acts that can be committed. O our Lord, You are witness that we are free from those who made this decision. We are pleased with our brothers and sisters who bow down to You and obey Your command, may You be pleased with them too, and grant them multiplied rewards. Bring the Islamic Ummah together again. Ameen.

US Updates War Casualties Balance Sheet

According to the latest updates from the US Department of Defense, the total casualties of the US-Iran war were announced as 21 dead and 865 injured. The newly announced total once again called into question the Pentagon's transparency due to deficiencies in previously disclosed figures. A Reuters investigation dated October 15 focuses on another dimension of the war: attacks by Iran and Iran-backed forces on the critical infrastructure of Gulf countries. According to the investigation, following the war that began on February 28, 2026, at least 135 precision UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and missile attacks were carried out against 84 critical infrastructure points in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. Targets include oil dispatch systems, cooling equipment at liquefied natural gas facilities, airports, and oil pipeline pump stations. While disrupting energy production and transportation, these attacks continue to cause significant economic losses and make the global economy difficult for everyone, also weakening the gains of alternative routes used to bypass obstacles in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Reuters' assessment, Iran's strategy is not only to strike direct military targets, but also to complicate Washington's war plans by pressuring the economic and strategic infrastructure of the US's regional allies. When the Houthi crisis in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is added to this crisis, the region becomes almost like a powder keg ready to explode.

Attack on Gold Mine in Sudan

At least 72 miners were reported killed in an airstrike on a gold mine in the border region between Sudan and Egypt. The Sudanese human rights organization Emergency Lawyers announced that the attack took place on Saturday morning in the area known as the border triangle, holding Egyptian forces responsible. The Sudan Doctors Network, in its initial statement, reported that 13 people died, stating that the injured were in serious condition and the death toll could rise. Allegedly, Egyptian officials had warned miners to evacuate the area before the attack, but the scope of this warning and all details of the attack have not been independently verified. In the background of the event lies the ongoing civil war in Sudan and gold being an important resource financing the conflict. It is stated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) finance their operations by smuggling a significant amount of gold extracted from the Darfur and Kordofan regions. According to a 2024 United Nations report, more than 50 percent of the gold extracted in Sudan is taken out of the country. However, the bill for all events in the region falls on the civilian population once again. Sudan is struggling with a very severe humanitarian crisis due to ongoing conflicts. Please let us not forget our brothers and sisters in Sudan.

Enemies of Islam all around the world continue to attack Muslims and their faith from all sides. However, let this situation never drive us into despair. Because we know by our Lord's promise that the good end belongs to those who are righteous and patient. For the oppressors, there is only humiliation and fire. Moreover, despite all the negative developments, Islam continues to spread and Muslims continue to work, Alhamdulillah. By Allah's permission, the Ummah is slowly rising from its ashes. May my Lord grant us the opportunity to serve in this cause. Ameen.

Striving is from us, the decree is from ALLAH.

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Surah Az-Zumar - Verse 53)

Selamun aleykum.
