Bismillah.

The month of September has started as fast as August, leaving no room to miss it, and continues in the same manner.
If we examine our news headlines for this week in order,

we can summarize it as such. It is evident that it has been a much more active week compared to the previous one.
So then, let us examine what happened this week in order.

Confession from a Chinese Soldier

Wu Jing, a retired Chinese soldier, exposed the state policies and executions carried out against Uyghurs in East Turkestan through posts on his social media account. Wu confessed that in 2008, Uyghur prisoners released from prison were made to wear Chinese military uniforms, and subsequently, these individuals were burned to death with Molotov cocktails by Chinese soldiers disguised as Uyghurs, including himself, with the events presented to the press as a "terrorist attack by Muslim Uyghurs." Due to the remorse he felt and the atrocities he witnessed, Wu left the military and settled in New York. However, hundreds of similar or even worse unrevealed cases have occurred and continue to occur in the region.

Gaza and the Boycott

Adidas, which supports the Terrorist State Israel, recently drew great backlash for featuring a former Israeli Terrorist soldier in its advertising campaign introducing single-shoe services for amputees. Despite being well aware of—and responsible for—the spilled blood, shed tears, and sky-shattering cries of thousands of orphaned, widowed, sick, disabled, and amputated children killed in Gaza, Syria, the West Bank, and Lebanon with bombs, weapons, torture, chemicals, and phosphorus, featuring the vile Shalev Biton, who lost his leg during the occupation in Gaza, in this campaign proved once again to the whole world that they are at the pinnacle of vileness. On the other hand, despite all this, there are so-called leaders who remain silent, countries that deem this oppression acceptable for Muslims, and unfortunately, human-like creatures living among us who support all of this. This incident has served as yet another example of how crucial it is for us as an Ummah to continue the boycott for our brothers and sisters at the very least. While they make their side clear with this ad, if we still cannot refrain from buying a simple product and turn to alternatives, then our side is clear too. US-Iran Crisis Deepens

Just like the Russia-Ukraine war, the US-Iran war, which was planned to be short at the table but dragged on in the field, continues to become increasingly tangled and painful for the entire world, unlike the Russia-Ukraine war. The military and economic policies pursued by the US against Iran face intense criticism for reigniting the endless wars of the US in Muslim geographies. Rising oil prices worldwide indicate that a global economic crisis is approaching.

Houthis Advancing in Yemen

In Yemen, the Houthis captured the strategic port city of Al-Mukha and critical points around the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. This situation shook the balances in the region and escalated the threat to global maritime trade in the Red Sea. With this move by the Houthis, as the regional crisis grew, the region has become excessively unpredictable and volatile recently due to the ongoing US-Iran war, newly formed alliances, and constantly changing power balances. As new crises affecting the whole world are added to the decades-long crises in Muslim geographies, it would not be surprising if a larger global crisis broke out. However, with the increasing instability worldwide, it is not easy to make a prediction for either the region or the world in general for now.

Casualties in Sudan Exceed 9 Thousand

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced that following the civil war in Sudan that began in April 2023 between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the number of documented missing person cases has exceeded 9 thousand, and the total active missing cases have exceeded 11 thousand. Drawing attention to the devastating humanitarian toll of the war, officials noted that thousands of bodies, especially in the capital Khartoum, were buried in haste without being registered. Let us not drop Sudan, one of the bleeding wounds of the Ummah, from our agenda.

Another Mosque Demolished in India

A new one has been added to the demolition policies targeting places of worship belonging to the Muslim minority in India. In the city of Saharanpur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, a historic mosque with a history of nearly 150 years was demolished with bulldozers on the grounds that it was an "illegal structure" on public land. Although the mosque management argued that the property was a waqf (endowment) asset and had official documents dating back to 1911, this demolition, carried out by court and local government decisions, was added as a new instance to the recent rise in Hindu-driven mosque and madrasa demolitions.

Far-Right on the Rise in Europe

Far-right movements gaining strength across Europe, particularly in Germany, have accelerated their quest to gain legitimacy in coalition partnerships and local governments following their recent electoral victories. The far-right in Europe is a political movement positioned beyond the traditional center-right, advocating ultranationalism, xenophobia, anti-immigrant sentiment, Islamophobia, and authoritarian tendencies. Following the major success achieved in elections by the German far-right for the first time since World War II, its search for coalition partners and allies to form a state government increases concerns regarding the future of anti-immigrant and Islamophobic trends across Europe, primarily the course of the country itself.
