As-Salamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh
Bismillah.
Dear brothers and sisters, unfortunately, we are before you with many painful news again this week. Although it was not an extremely eventful week, it was still a week where significant events took place.
If we examine our news headlines for this week in order, we can summarize them as follows:
- $200 Million from the US to Gaza!
- Pressure on Uyghurs Everywhere from China
- Pain Away from the Spotlight: Sudan
- K-Pop, Ateez, and Manifest
- Houthis Hitting Oil Tankers
Then let us examine what happened this week step by step.
$200 Million from the US to Gaza!
In Gaza, where blood and oppression never stop, and where death stalks through hunger, disease, and bombs, the painful picture grows even heavier. According to information published by the Palestinian Prisoners Society, following the approval of the execution of Palestinian prisoners in March, a special facility is now being established so that death sentences can be carried out, and Minister of Terror Ben-Gvir proudly presents this situation. Furthermore, while the situation is so dire, the US indicates that it is preparing to allocate over $206 million in US resources to the planned International Stabilization Force for Gaza. It is claimed that approximately $200 million of this will be allocated for the force's infrastructure, equipment, and operational expenses, while $6 million will be used to make US armored vehicles reusable again. This theater being played out while there is no trace of peace is the most obvious proof that imperialist powers have other plans for Gaza. Moreover, despite all these developments, people do not even fully implement the boycott to prevent this oppression happening before their eyes. If you are also disturbed by this situation and want to spread the boycott, you can use the Boycott Materials.
Pressure on Uyghurs Everywhere from China
Human Rights Watch reported that Chinese authorities have carried out their pressure and surveillance activities against Uyghurs living in Australia beyond their borders. According to the report, Australian citizens of Uyghur origin who visit Xinjiang are interrogated by Chinese officials and are asked to gather intelligence on the Uyghur community in Australia, particularly regarding activists and schools offering Uyghur-language education. This exposes how the Chinese government can use family members living in Xinjiang and Uyghurs abroad as leverage against each other, and how family separation facilitates control over the diaspora. The boycott is a very important weapon against China, which continues its oppression against Islam, Muslims, and especially the Muslims of East Turkestan in every possible area. On the other hand, even leaders of countries with Muslim majorities do not hesitate to establish friendly(!) relations with China.
Pain Away from the Spotlight: Sudan
The painful situation continues in Sudan, one of the bleeding wounds of the Ummah in Africa. As a result of the renewed intensification of clashes in Sudan’s Kordofan region, more than 200,000 people have been newly displaced, and the humanitarian crisis in the region continues to worsen. Meanwhile, attacks targeting electricity and water infrastructure are making daily life even more difficult. In addition, among the latest developments is that a unit consisting of more than 300 fighters affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has joined the Sudanese army. Let us also keep our brothers and sisters in distant regions in our agenda. Especially at a time when the world’s agenda is constantly being shifted, governments in various countries are increasingly oppressing Muslims, releasing criminals, making agreements with terrorists, and carrying out operations against religious communities, it is necessary not to remain silent in the face of any oppression.
K-Pop, Ateez, and Manifest
One of the most popular and harmful music genres of our age is undoubtedly K-Pop. Unfortunately, with female singers wearing clothes bordering on nudity and exhibiting inappropriate behavior, male singers adopting female-like deportments, and the ugliness in song lyrics, this trend continues to poison people across a very wide age range in many countries. Today, music is one of the most corrupting factors. Although the prohibition of musical instruments is disputed, according to the majority view, it is impermissible (haram). Scholars who state that it is not haram have stipulated conditions for it, such as not enticing lust or worldly inclinations, and not containing impermissible elements in the lyrics. However, from Rap to K-Pop today, almost no song complies with these criteria. Furthermore, recently almost all song lyrics encourage immoral topics such as sexuality, drugs, crime, murder, genderlessness, and infidelity. To give examples, LvblC5 encouraging immorality and drugs in Turkey, Manifest directing young girls toward nudity and exhibitionism, and groups like Ateez, which recently came to the country to give concerts and feature homosexual themes, can be given as examples of this painful picture. When looking at the lyrics of these groups and individuals who have large listener bases from young to old, male to female, apart from the immorality mentioned, there is not even tangible meaning, rhythm, or harmony. This situation can lead to people evaluating things based on whether they appeal to their desires, ears, and eyes, rather than evaluating them based on good vs. bad or their meaning. May my Lord grant us all good morality and protect us from such fitnahs and from inclining toward them. Amin.
Houthis Hitting Oil Tankers
The Houthis announced that during the 32-day period between July 20 and August 19, 2026, they targeted eight oil tankers owned by Saudi Arabia or connected to Saudi oil transportation. The Houthis claim that five of these vessels were targeted in the Red Sea, and three in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea. They also state that as a result of the attacks and threats, 48 vessels were forced to alter their routes or turn back. This situation, along with the Strait of Hormuz crisis, continues to pose a major threat to the global economy.
May my Lord reform us, grant us guidance, and destroy the oppressors through our hands. Amin.
Effort is from us, decree is from ALLAH.
Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Surah Az-Zumar - Verse 53)
Selamun aleykum.
