Unlike last week, which passed relatively quietly, this week was quite active. In addition to many heart-wrenching news stories this week, thankfully, a few good developments also occurred.

We Completed Our First Month as Islamic Source

As Islamic Source, during our first active month online, with ALLAH's permission and help, we have managed to move forward successfully without missing any of our content, alhamdulillah. We strive to maintain our content without interruption and without compromising on quality to the best of our ability. InshaALLAH, in the upcoming period, we will bring much better content and resources to you, our valuable brothers and sisters. We ask our Lord to accept this deed of ours. We also thank all our brothers and sisters who follow and support us. May ALLAH (s.w.t.) be pleased with them. Ameen.

Hormuz Tension Escalates

The US-Iran war, which started more than 4 months ago, and the tension in the Strait of Hormuz continue to escalate. In the war approaching its 5th month, where the sides continue their mutual threats against each other, they continue to attack one another at every possible opportunity. This situation continues to severely impact the global economy, and especially oil prices, particularly for neighboring countries.

Houthis Closed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait

In addition to the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed for months, the Houthis have now closed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. It is difficult to predict which way the global economy—already worsening due to disrupted ship traffic and rising oil prices caused by the Strait of Hormuz, under which the local population and neighboring countries already live in harsh conditions—will collapse with this final blow. It is hard to imagine the consequences that the closure of these two highly significant straits located on both sides of the Arabian Peninsula could bring. On the other hand, it is not yet clear how the broken global system, which is losing strength day by day, will respond to this situation.

Latest Developments in Gaza and East Turkestan

Unfortunately, the waters do not calm down in Gaza and East Turkestan, which are our permanent agenda. Oppression continues to increase in Gaza and the West Bank. The terrorist Israel, blinding the eyes of the media with a fake ceasefire declaration, continues to destroy homes, block aid, and massacre people. In East Turkestan, the Oppressive Chinese Regime continues its strict censorship to hide the oppression and crimes it has committed. Recently, the Chinese administration issued an official warning regarding a line in a historical TV series broadcast in Turkey that said, "China, with its power, has decided to make our men slaves and our daughters concubines. There is only fear there," giving a 30-day ultimatum to apologize for "insulting and false content(!)". The Chinese administration, which restricts even artificial intelligence, cannot tolerate lines in TV series, and resorts to every path to hide the oppression it commits, does not know that the truth will come out sooner or later and that they cannot escape the sighs of the oppressed. As Muslims, we pray for our brothers and sisters in faith in Gaza, East Turkestan, Africa, and many other geographies, and try to make their voices heard. Besides these, another thing we can do is to wear the enemy down in the long run by boycotting their products. You can also help spread the boycott with Boycott Materials.

Spain Won the Football World Cup

The 2026 Football World Cup final match was played between Argentina and Spain. Winning the match by a 1-0 margin, Spain became the owner of the trophy. Argentina, despite continuing its unsportsmanlike behavior in this match and previous matches, being constantly favored by the referees, and even performing very harsh fouls only to play the innocent afterwards, failed to take the trophy. After the match, rather than the fight that broke out, Lamine Yamal prostrating in the middle of the pitch was talked about the most. Despite being subjected to racism due to his Muslim identity, the Moroccan-origin football player managed to raise awareness about the Gaza oppression in the global media. While Spain's victory—a team that won the support of the whole world by supporting Gaza and through Lamine Yamal's actions—pleased the whole world, Argentina's loss, as a supporter of Israel, was just as pleasing. However, the media's focus on such large entertainment organizations also creates a suitable environment for Israel and the US to commit war crimes without anyone seeing.

Anti-Islamic Leader in Africa

In Africa, Burkina Faso leader Ibrahim Traore, who came to power through a coup in 2022, made despicable statements targeting Islam and Muslims. Traore, an enemy of Islam, made statements touching upon topics such as restricting religious activities and religious education, banning the construction of mosques in public institutions, preventing religious education in state schools, and revoking the citizenship of students studying in Arab countries, as well as threatening scholars. It is the duty of Muslims to crush the heads and overthrow the regimes of such despicable minds who find courage due to Muslims' inability to unite and protect their religion. As long as Muslims remain passive, these enemies of religion will find courage in themselves. But if Muslims unite and struggle for their religion, these cowardly and despicable minds will lose, with ALLAH's permission.


Along with many painful developments this week, the victory of Gaza-supporter Spain in the cup brought at least a bit of happiness to people. Furthermore, despite all the painful developments, we can say that the Ummah of Islam, albeit slowly, is not remaining indifferent to what is happening and has started to raise its voice. Painful events continue to happen today, but after all, this is a world of trial. If it were easy, it wouldn't be a test. O Lord, increase our faith and knowledge, grant us patience and courage, stop the oppression of the oppressors through our hands, and spread Your religion. Ameen.
